Dream On

This project studies how type can be manipulated to create emotion. Using the song Dream On by Aerosmith, the type visualizes the meaning behind the lyrics to never give up on your dreams. Continuity and smooth transitions between sequences is important to the story-telling so it feels like one whole story.

The scene starts out dark with slower movements to convey the idea that you’re living a life you know is not what you want, but have not made any effort in working towards your dreams. As the story progresses and you realize you aren’t satisfied with your life anymore, the movements get sharper and the line weight gets thicker. And then, at the end, it slows back down while the camera zooms into the words to represent your dreams coming true.
